I've been working on a book for the last year. The working title is:
Agile Game Development with Scrum
I hope to have it done by the end of summer. It will be published by Prentice-Hall as part of Mike Cohn's Signature Series books. I'm very proud to have the book be a part of the series!
The first draft is complete and second draft chapters are being posted on the book's website:
I am looking for not only feedback, but also your stories of adopting agile in your studio or working with agile game development teams! I want this book to be a reference for the industry. If you have stories to tell, they may be included as sidebars with full credit given.
There is also a LinkedIn discussion group forming. If you have problems joining it, send me a message:
I put off writing this book for years. I've never enjoyed writing big documents, but I have loved the experience of writing this book! Hopefully that will come through to the readers.
Great! Can't wait!
Yah, the link doesn't go to any ggroup for me, either. I just get sent to your LI profile. I'll try to take a look at those chapters in the very near future.
Yes, the post said to "send me a message on LinkedIn to join", which is why I put my profile link there.
In the meantime, I've learned more about managing groups, so I think you can join without doing that through this link (now embedded in the post as well).
Ah, very good, 2nd link works as advertised.
The designer chapter is going to be posted in a few weeks. You should join the linkedin group to review it.
I'm not sure about your second question. There are many custom practices for game dev....none of them "best" though the term is used.
